About
Aperanti is not a coliving that happens to be in the countryside. It grew out of a life that Sara and Tassos built here over more than a decade: olive groves, halloumi made by hand, foraging along a seasonal river, and a village where people still know each other's names. The name Aperanti comes from the Greek word for infinite and beyond, and that is exactly the idea. Go beyond the usual remote work setup. Go beyond the tourist trail. Come and actually live in a Cypriot village, in the center of the island, surrounded by fruit trees and mountain trails, and be part of what happens here day to day. The coliving runs during the winter months, which is exactly when the most interesting things happen. Olive harvest is in late November and December. Halloumi making resumes in February, a recipe passed down from Tassos's grandmother that he and Sara still do entirely by hand. Foraging comes into its own in January and February when the valley is green and the seasonal river is flowing. The longer you stay, the more of this you get to experience. Most guests from the first season stayed one to two months, and those who did could move through the full cycle of seasonal activities. This is also a co-creative space. Sara and Tassos share their life and their knowledge, but they genuinely love it when guests bring their own skills and ideas to the group, whether that is a yoga session on the terrace, a painting afternoon, or a skill-sharing evening. Nothing is compulsory. You can join every activity or spend a quiet day with a book. But the people who come here tend to come because they actually want to get their hands in the soil, the milk, and the life of this place. And that is what makes the connections here real.Work & WiFi
- WiFi download speed is 150 Mbps and upload is 70 Mbps; the connection is stable and rarely affected by weather or peak-hour load
- No wired ethernet or backup internet connection is available
- The shared living room doubles as a coworking space with up to 4 workstations
- Each private room has a work desk
- Residents can take early or late calls without disturbing others
- Power outages are rare, a few times a year at most, and there is no generator or UPS backup
Community & Social
- Each week begins with a communal dinner and a group meeting to plan the week's activities together
- Weekend activities rotate through on-site workshops included in the rent: halloumi and cheese making by hand, olive harvesting, cooking lessons, and foraging in the valley
- Group outings explore Cyprus at weekends: villages, mountain trails, the sea, local festivals, and Christmas markets
- Movie nights and skill-sharing evenings happen occasionally throughout the season
- The coliving is co-creative
- Hosts love it when guests bring their own skills and ideas, whether that is yoga, painting, or anything else they want to share with the group
- Nothing is compulsory
- Guests who prefer a quiet day reading are just as welcome as those who want to be involved in everything
- Sara and Tassos live close by and are involved day to day
- The host community extends into the village itself: guests can visit the farm where the milk comes from, meet the locals, and become part of the wider village rhythm rather than just the coliving bubble
- With a maximum of 8 guests at once, the group stays small and the connections tend to be genuine
Comfort & Living
- Four rooms available: Sgartili and Kranga at 15 sqm each, Thoupi at 27 sqm, and Alkioni at 36 sqm
- All have double beds
- Bathroom setup is ensuite or shared between two guests depending on the room
- All rooms have blackout curtains, a lock on the door, a work desk, air conditioning, and heating
- The thick walls of the traditional stone house provide good natural soundproofing between rooms
- Communal spaces include a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and lounge, and a garden and terrace
- Free coffee and tea is provided; drinking water is not included
- Weekly room cleaning, linen, and towels are included in the price
- Utilities including water, electricity, air conditioning and heating are included
- Airport transfers, laundry, and meals are not included unless they are part of a workshop or cooking lesson
- All pets are welcome at no extra charge and with no size restriction
Location & Surroundings
- Aperanti is located in Pera Orinis, a village in the center of Cyprus, in the Nicosia district
- The pop-up runs from 8 November 2026 to 7 March 2027, covering the full winter season
- A local tavern is a 2-minute walk away
- A weekend brunch cafe and a traditional kafenio are 1 minute away
- A minimarket is a 10-minute walk
- A nature trail starts 5 minutes on foot from the coliving
- A bike rental shop is also 5 minutes away on foot
- Cycling and hiking routes are accessible directly from the village
- Bus connections to Nicosia run regularly and take approximately 45 minutes
- A car is helpful for reaching mountains and remote countryside, but not strictly necessary as hosts share their cars at weekends
- The nearest airport is approximately 50 minutes by taxi
- The neighbourhood is described as very safe
- The winter climate is mild with plenty of sunny days
- November and the February to March period are highlighted as the best months for outdoor activities
- The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away by car; guests can join Sara for a weekly supermarket run
Perfect for
Remote workers who want to slow right down and actually live somewhere, not just pass through. People who are curious, like getting outdoors, and are interested in organic agriculture and traditional food crafts. Guests who enjoy small groups and meaningful connections over busy social schedules. Works well for solo travelers and couples aged 25 to 50.
Not right for
Anyone who needs city energy, a busy nightlife, or a fast-paced social scene. This is a quiet village, and that is the whole point. People wanting a short stay to sample the vibe may find two weeks is not enough time to settle in. As a seasonal pop-up, the group changes completely each edition, so those looking to build long-term coliving relationships in one fixed community should look elsewhere.
