About

Irene grew up on Mallorca and always felt the island had a side that most visitors never reach. After years in consultancy, a gap year that sent her inward, and a lot of thinking, she built Laberint to share that side with others. It is a small residential coliving in Palma, just four rooms, and that intimacy is the whole point. Before you even arrive, you do a video call with Irene. She wants to know you a little, and she wants you to know what you are walking into. The first coliver stayed two months and by the end was saying, I feel like a local, this is my home. That is exactly the feeling Laberint is designed to create. The activities, one to three per week, are co-created with whoever is living there at the time. One week it is a hike to a secluded cala. Another week a resident proposes a paint and sip evening and leads it herself. A sunset walk, a community dinner with locals and expats, a weekend day trip to a mountain village with food packed in a bag. Irene adapts to the group, and the group shapes the experience. The Balearic Islands are crowded with tourism, and Irene is very aware of that tension. What she is trying to protect and offer at Laberint is the authenticity underneath it all, the pace, the culture, the places that do not appear on a tourist map. She says it best herself: she wants people to leave the island feeling they were truly part of it. Not passing through.

Work & WiFi

  • WiFi download and upload speeds of 800 Mbps with full coverage via main router and access point
  • No wired ethernet option and no backup internet connection available
  • Dedicated coworking space with 6 workstations and ergonomic chairs
  • Work desk in every private room
  • No private phone booth, though quiet calls are sometimes possible depending on timing
  • Power outages are essentially never an issue

Community & Social

  • Irene organises one to three community activities per week, co-created with residents based on their schedules and interests
  • Sample activities include sunset walks, day trips to secluded calas, visits to mountain villages, community dinners, and resident-led workshops like paint and sip evenings
  • Open gatherings regularly bring in locals, expats, and digital nomads living in Mallorca, not just people staying at the coliving
  • Residents are actively encouraged to propose and lead their own activities
  • Irene is present part-time and joins activities; she does a video call with every guest before arrival to make sure there is a genuine fit
  • The community has a strong co-creation ethos: the atmosphere of the home is shaped by the people living in it, not just the host
  • As Irene puts it, things happen because of you, not around you
  • After two months of running Laberint, the feedback she hears most is that people feel genuinely connected and at home within their first couple of weeks
  • Ideal stay is two to three months or longer to experience the island at depth and build real relationships

Comfort & Living

  • Four private rooms named: a-rrel, es-kolta, si-lensi, and ei-shida
  • a-rrel: is 17m² with a 6m² private ensuite bathroom and a 160x200cm double bed
  • es-kolta: is 17m² with large street-view windows and a 160x200cm double bed
  • si-lensi: is a quiet 16m² interior room designed for deep rest with a 140x200cm double bed
  • ei-shida: is 11m² with a 4m² private terrace and a 140x200cm double bed
  • Bathroom setup is either private ensuite or shared among up to three people depending on the room
  • All rooms have blackout curtains, a lock on the door, air conditioning, heating, and a work desk
  • Soundproofing is generally good; rooms sharing a wall may occasionally hear muffled voices but privacy is maintained
  • Weekly cleaning is included in the price
  • Linen and towels are provided and included
  • Communal spaces include a fully equipped kitchen, living room, garden/terrace, and coworking area
  • Tap water in Palma is not suitable for drinking; residents currently manage their own bottled water
  • No free coffee, tea, or drinking water provided
  • Fridge space can feel tight during full occupancy; the host is exploring solutions

Perfect for

Remote workers, founders, and freelancers who want to actually live in Mallorca rather than just visit it. People who value focused mornings, real conversations, and weekend days spent exploring a cala or hiking a trail with housemates. Solo travelers in their twenties to early forties who are in a moment of building, creating, or figuring out what comes next. Anyone who wants to feel like a local before they leave.

Not right for

Anyone looking for parties or a hostel atmosphere: quiet hours are strictly 10pm to 8am in a residential building. Guests who expect hotel-style service, daily cleaning, or 24/7 support. Passive guests who want an experience handed to them without contributing to the house dynamic. Short-stay travelers: the minimum is 32 nights and this is a hard requirement under local regulations.
