About
Maria grew up watching tourists pass through Greece's famous postcard spots and kept thinking: that is not the real thing. When she finally experienced her first coliving in Madeira, she realised what had been missing. Not just travel, but a life after work. People to have dinner with last minute. Friends who remember your coffee order at the bakery downstairs. That is what she has built in Parga. This May edition runs for three weeks in a small seaside town that most foreign visitors have never heard of. Parga is popular with Greeks, but in May the crowds have not arrived yet. You will have the town largely to yourselves, alongside the locals who actually live there. The bakery around the corner will know your order by day three. The programme is community-centred all the way through. Weekdays have a rhythm of focused work, then someone suggests lunch, then dinner becomes a group affair almost by default. Weekends open up for boat trips to the nearby islands, hikes through the hills, village hopping, and things that come together spontaneously. Maria also brings the group into local life in ways that feel genuinely surprising: one evening you might be in a village hall learning traditional Greek circle dances alongside people who have been doing them for generations. Maria is on-site the whole time. She speaks the language, knows the locals, and has been running chapters here long enough that the townspeople greet her group like returning regulars. That makes a real difference in a place like this.Work & WiFi
- Dedicated coworking space with 10 workstations, some with ergonomic chairs
- WiFi download speed of 100 Mbps and upload of 20 Mbps, with a backup second provider line
- Internet is stable for standard work tasks but may be variable during video calls
- No wired ethernet option
- Power outages have never been reported
- Early and late calls are possible without disturbing other guests
- No phone booth or dedicated call room
Community & Social
- The social life here is built around shared meals, local experiences, and genuine connection rather than organised fun for its own sake
- Most evenings the group ends up at dinner together, not because it is required but because it is the natural thing to do
- During the week there are cooking classes covering traditional Greek dishes, wine tasting, and occasional business or skill-share workshops
- Weekends shift to day trips, hiking, village hopping, and boat excursions to the islands just off the coast
- Maria has also arranged evenings with a local group that meets weekly to dance traditional Greek circle dances, the kind that go back centuries
- The community leans strongly social, rated 9 out of 10, but the pace stays relatively relaxed
- Nothing is mandatory
- The host lives on-site full-time and brings the same excitement every chapter, as if she is showing friends around her hometown for the first time
Comfort & Living
- Private rooms of 22 square metres, each with an ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette including stovetop, refrigerator, and kitchenware
- Double queen bed, flat-screen TV with streaming, air conditioning, heating, and a private terrace with courtyard view
- Blackout curtains and a lock on every room door
- Weekly room cleaning included
- Fresh linens and towels provided
- Free drinking water in rooms
- Coffee and tea are not provided
- Shared living room and lounge area
- Not included in the price: flights, food, and local transportation; laundry; e-SIM card; some organised activities
Location & Surroundings
- Parga is a small seaside town on the northwest Greek coast, popular with Greeks and Scandinavians in peak summer but quiet in May
- The coliving sits in the city centre
- Beach is a 5-minute walk
- Grocery store is a 2-minute walk
- Bakery is a 1-minute walk
- Multiple restaurants and cafes within a 3 to 4 minutes walk
- Gym is a 3-minute walk
- A butcher and farmers market are 200 metres away
- No car needed
- Public transport is limited
- Nearest airport is approximately 1 hour by taxi
- The neighbourhood is considered very safe as a small town
- May brings warm sunny weather, a long shoulder season that feels like an extended summer without the tourist crowds
Perfect for
Remote workers and freelancers who want to work by the sea, eat well, and actually get to know a place rather than just visit it. Best suited to solo travellers aged 25 to 40 who enjoy shared dinners, spontaneous plans, and experiencing how people really live. You should be comfortable stepping into local culture, not just observing it from a distance.
Not right for
Not right for people who want a traditional holiday with no work involved, or who need complete privacy and full control over their schedule. This is a social coliving and the group eats and spends time together regularly. If you are looking for a long-term base rather than a fixed three-week edition, or if sharing spaces with strangers feels like a stretch, this is not the right fit.
