About
Satvana means 'forest of truth' in Sanskrit, and that name tells you everything about what this place is. Tucked into one of the last untouched valleys in southern Alentejo, surrounded by cork trees and indigenous forest, this is somewhere people come to breathe again. The property has been a place of meditation and community for over ten years, and that energy is still very much here. Gerhard and Michelle, who live on-site full-time, describe it simply: build your own adventure. Every morning starts with an optional conscious routine, yoga and meditation on an outdoor deck in the middle of the forest, birds around you, no agenda. From there, the day is yours. You can work, go on a hike, join a beach trip, cook together, or simply disappear into the twenty-three hectares of land with a blanket and your thoughts. This is not a party coliving. It is not fast-paced. It is for people who want to slow down, whether that means finishing a book, unplugging from city life, doing some quiet inner work, or just finding a rhythm that actually suits them. Guests who arrive guarded often leave in tears. That is the honest truth of this place.Work & WiFi

Perfect for
People who need to slow down: digital nomads working remotely, those on sabbatical finishing a project or book, anyone stepping back from city life for a few weeks. Equally good for solo travellers wanting quiet introspection and those craving real human connection. If you are open-minded, curious about the world, and drawn to nature, mindfulness, and living with intention, this place will suit you. Typical guest age is 25 to 50, mostly solo travellers.
Not right for
Not suited to anyone looking for nightlife, a party atmosphere, or a fast-paced social scene. The location is remote: limited public transport, no close neighbours, and a 20-minute drive to a supermarket. Not accessible for people with mobility or disability needs. If you need constant urban convenience or a buzzing social calendar, this will feel too quiet.
